Rumors want that Red Herring,
the reborn Silicon Valley tech magazine, will be opening an office in
Zurich soon. It would initially be a commercial operation focusing on
supporting RH's events in Europe and selling ads for the magazine. At a
later stage it may be expanded into editorial (Jennifer Schenker, one
of the magazine's top editors, is currently based in Paris). (UPDATE 3 March 06: RH confirms).
And in the coming days it should be announced that European networking platform openBC has acquired the Swiss think-tank First Tuesday Zurich
for an undisclosed sum. The deal was apparently closed last week. Susan
Kish, the FTZ's CEO, will remain based in Zurich and be charged with
building up and running openBC's "live events" global unit (openBC's
